Copyright and DMCA
Armour Studios responds to notices of copyright infringement under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act. This page explains how to send one, how to respond to one, and what happens to repeat infringers.
Where to send a notice
Send copyright notices and counter-notices to our copyright agent by email at copyright@armour-studios.com.
This address is for copyright matters only. For anything else, use a support ticket.
Sending a takedown notice
If you believe material on Armour Studios infringes a copyright you own or are authorised to act for, send a written notice that includes all of the following. A notice that leaves something out may not be acted on.
- Your physical or electronic signature, as the copyright owner or a person authorised to act on the owner's behalf.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you say is infringed. If one notice covers several works, a representative list of them.
- Identification of the material you say is infringing, with enough information for us to find it. The URL of the listing, profile, post or file is best.
- Your contact information: name, postal address, telephone number and email address.
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material in the way complained of is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or are authorised to act on the owner's behalf.
When we receive a complete notice we remove or disable access to the material, tell the user who posted it, and give them a copy of the notice. Under section 512(f) of the Copyright Act, a person who knowingly makes a material misrepresentation in a notice can be liable for damages.
Responding with a counter-notice
If material you posted was removed because of a notice and you believe it was removed by mistake or because it was misidentified, you can send a counter-notice to the same address. It must include all of the following:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that was removed or disabled, and where it appeared before it was removed.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the US Federal District Court for the judicial district where your address is (or, if your address is outside the United States, any judicial district in which Armour Studios may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice or their agent.
When we receive a complete counter-notice we send a copy to the person who sent the original notice. If they do not tell us within 10 business days that they have filed a court action to stop you from posting the material, we restore it no sooner than 10 and no later than 14 business days after we received your counter-notice.
Knowingly misrepresenting that material was removed by mistake can also make you liable for damages under section 512(f).
Repeat infringers
We will, in appropriate circumstances, terminate the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe copyright. We may also remove listings while a matter is open.
